Partnerships & Collaborators
Investing in Research
It is estimated that $215 billion dollars per year, in the US alone, are used to care for disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. This number not only reflects the cost of direct-patient care, but also dollars lost in productivity and disability.
Medical research institutions like OCRI must pioneer the development of revolutionary treatments and techniques that offer major benefits in cost-effectiveness and improved patient outcomes. External support, including financial, human resources (patients, investigators, volunteers), and physical materials, are critical to the Institute’s success, continued growth, and further advancement of orthopedics.
Corporate Research Partners
Developing new and innovative medical technologies and improving existing products require on-going collaborations between industry and research organizations. Orthopedic implant design, manufacturing companies, and pharmaceutical companies frequently contract with the OrthoCarolina Research Institute to conduct clinical trials and scientific outcomes studies.
Corporate Partners also generously support the OrthoCarolina Research Institute in our community outreach and educational programs. Without such support from the corporate sector, the Institute could not fulfill its mission of advancing medical healthcare and improving the lives of orthopedic patients through research and education. Please visit our Events page for additional information about our past corporate sponsors.
