History

The O.L. Miller Research Institute founded in 2002 and Charlotte Orthopedic Research Institute founded in 1990, merged in the summer of 2006 to form the OrthoCarolina Research Institute, Inc.  Both research entities were organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. The merger brought together highly qualified investigators, regulatory expertise, and an impressive list of ongoing FDA regulated clinical trials, industry sponsored studies, peer reviewed grants, and academic studies.
OCRI is focused on advancing and improving orthopedic healthcare and fostering scientific collaborations with universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare device manufacturers and other academic and research organizations.
