OrthoCarolina Research Institute (OCRI) was founded to advance and improve orthopedic healthcare and foster scientific collaborations between OCRI, universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare device manufacturers and other academic and research organizations. The OrthoCarolina Research Institute is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. The Institute is an independent, autonomous, not-for-profit research organization whose mission is to promote and support scientific research and education as it relates to orthopedic care.

The Research Institute currently manages 14 FDA-regulated clinical trials, research grants and over 50 scientific/outcomes studies, and annually monitors approximately 6,000 study patients. The results of these research studies are shared with other healthcare professionals through peer-reviewed medical journals, medical textbooks and presentations at medical conferences.

Each year, research efforts from OCRI result in approximately 20 scientific articles being published in peer-reviewed medical journals and more than 100 presentations at national and international medical conferences or seminars.
